29-30 June 2022, Paris, Sciences Po
Conference co-organised by IEEP and IDDRI

About this year's Think2030 conference

Organised by IEEP and IDDRI and hosted by Sciences Po Paris, the third edition of the Think2030 conference was an opportunity for the Think2030 community to meet in person again and exchange thoughts on the implementation status of the Green Deal. The first results of the 2022 edition of the European Green Deal Barometer were shared during the event, and a series of roundtables on subjects ranging from CBAM to sustainable food systems helped refine recommendations for the successful implementation of the Green Deal.

This report is a summary of a two-day discussion among national and EU-level policymakers, experts, representatives of civil society and the private sector on how to make the Green Deal a reality.

European Green Deal Barometer 2022

Picking up on the numerous ongoing negotiations on Green Deal files in the legislative procedure, as well as the impact of the war in Ukraine and the energy price hike, the Barometer paints a picture of the Green Deal as it currently stands.

Taking into account the IPCC’s latest warning and the impact of the war in Ukraine on food and energy security, the Think2030 community will come together around a set of recommendations that the upcoming EU Presidencies should act on. Topics include:

Delivering climate targets: How can EU policy support a just transition?

Towards an EU Sustainable Food Systems Legislative Framework

CBAM reality check: Taking stock of policy developments under the French Presidency

Achieving the new EU nature restoration targets: Needs and benefits

The Think2030 conference included high-level panels and break-out groups focusing on key thematic issues.
